Dance
Multnomah Athletic Club’s Dance Company has been a part of the club for more than 20 years and regularly develops young artists that go on to pursue a professional career in dance. The program is designed to help youth experience the thrill of performance and the rigors of competition, all while instilling a love and passion for the art. Professional employees work diligently to teach all genres in an effort to create well-rounded and versatile performers. MAC dancers regularly give back to the community and enrich member experience through performances such as the annual Nutcracker, Street Fair, and Student Choreographer Showcase.

Dance Company Handbook
MAC Dance Company
1. The MAC dance company provides an opportunity for young dancers to explore the art of dance in a competitive format. This gives dancers the chance to grow as an artist while learning the commitment and discipline involved with team athletics.
2. The MAC dance company is an 11 month commitment. Parents sign a Sport Team Fee Contract that outlines the financial terms of this commitment. Families are also given a Dance Handbook that outlines the schedule, the expectations and the policy and procedures within the dance department. During those 11 months there are several opportunities for them to perform not only within the community of the MAC but at local and national competitions as well.
3. The MAC dance company works with dancers of all levels, providing specific classes and rehearsals tailored to their dance experience level. MAC dance company has 3 company levels- Junior Company 1, Junior Company 2 and Senior Company. There is also an opportunity to perform in only Tap and/or Hip Hop as well.
4. Auditions are held yearly, usually around mid to late June. If you are interested in auditioning, please contact us and we will provide you further details.
5. J1 is our entry level group. They are expected to rehearse a minimum for five to six hours a week. These rehearsal times include choreography and technique.
J2 is our intermediate company. They are expected to rehearsal for a minimum of six to eight hours a week. This includes choreography and technique.
Seniors are our most advanced company. They are expected to rehearse for a minimum of 10 hours a week. This includes choreography and technique.
